The Wisdom of Intentional Silence: Meditation Workshop
February 24 @ 2:15 pm - 4:15 pm
Sunday, February 24, 2019
Yoga is so much more than practicing poses–the physicality of yoga is a small portion of the practice itself. Yoga is steeped in the tradition of meditation and you will deeply enhance your experience by integrating it into your daily life.
I truly believe there is no wrong way to meditate because we are all unique with different needs. What you may require today to settle your mind will be quite different than what you needed 5 years ago; some days a walking meditation may be better than a seated one.
Regardless of style, meditation is about observing without judgement. Our attention is most often focused on what’s happening outside of us so when we turn our attention inwards, we can feel somewhat overwhelmed. I will teach you different meditation techniques (breath awareness, body scanning, kindness meditation, walking meditation and more). Everyone has doubts, fear and strong emotions that can push the interested meditator off course. The purpose of learning these modalities in a group is that you will see the universality of the human condition. We will be able to share our challenges and concerns, ask questions and offer insights for mutual support and encouragement.
Come join me at Michael’s Body Scenes for this 2 hour workshop where we will demystify meditation and learn various techniques to make meditation part of your daily, non-negotiable routine.
